Negative Impact of K-pop for Indonesian Teenagers

K-pop, is a type of popular music originating from South Korea. Many Korean pop music artists and groups have crossed national borders and are popular overseas. Love for K-Pop music is an inseparable part of Korean Fever in various countries including Indonesia. Many teenagers idolize the idols from the country of Ginseng rather than choose local culture in the country. K-pop is actually not good for Indonesian teenagers, here are the reasons:

First, original Indonesian music will gradually disappear. With the existence of K-pop this will have an effect on the world of music in Indonesia, because the old music lovers will change direction and creating a local cultural shift and indifferent to local culture.

Second, too fanatical about boybands or girl groups so that they forget their obligation, for example a student is willing to skip school to see Korean artists who come to visit Indonesia and spend time just watching their idols. It's Undeniable That Being Kpopers Keeps their Trapped In a "Box" and Ridiculous Delusions. The term ‘Your Love For Your Idol’ Makes their Uselessly Protective. Always Buying Anything Related to Idols.  Including buying all the knick-knacks starting from albums, lightsticks, photocards, even concert tickets and fan meetings were purchased.

And third, our society, especially young people, forgets about their identity as the Indonesian nation, because their lifestyle tends to imitate the KPOP culture which is considered by the world community as a mecca.

The conclusion is watching too much Kpop is not a good thing. We as teenagers must be more selective about the foreign / Korean culture that enters Indonesia. Carrying out religious teachings as well as possible and selectively against the influence of globalization in the political, ideological, economic, social and cultural fields of the nation.
